Meet Dr. Kevin Zacour!
Kevin Zacour, DO has been a member of SCOMS for two years and is currently serving on the board as a trustee!
Where did you grow up? Orrville, Ohio
Undergraduate Education: Bachelor of Arts from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH.
Medical School: Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Residency: Doctors Hospital – Erie, PA – Board Certified in Family Practice
What type of practice do you have and where is it located? I currently work at Piedmont Family Practice at Tega Cay.
How long have you practiced in SC and why did you choose this area? I have lived in SC for two years. I had vacationed here and attended several CME programs and really enjoyed the area and the weather.
What prompted you to become a physician? My father and mother were both involved in healthcare. I have always enjoyed the family dynamics & diversity involved in family practice.
Why did you choose osteopathic medicine as your career? My father was a DO Radiologist and my younger brother is also an osteopathic family practice physician.
Are you involved in any community/volunteer activities? I have taught students from three different osteopathic medical schools and have been actively involved in the osteopathic state medical societies in Ohio, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. I currently help with the athletic programs at Winthrop University and am active in my church activities.
Tell us more about yourself: My wife Renee is an RN and works at an Endoscopy Center in Rock Hill. I have four children – the oldest is a youth pastor in Seneca, SC; my daughter is working on her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in Erie, PA and I have two sons at home attending college locally. I enjoy sports (especially Pittsburgh sports!), music and spending time with our one year old grandson.
