2019 SCOMS Winter CME Conference
Join us on February 22-23, 2019 at the Embassy Suites Greenville Downtown Riverplace for 12 hours of AOA Category 1-A continuing medical education as well as great opportunities for networking with other physicians in the state. Topics will include two hours of the state mandated Prescribing and Monitoring Controlled Substances and many updates for the primary care physician. Students and residents will also benefit from this conference by attending the general session as well as a breakout session for students and residents.
The SCOMS Winter CME Conference is designed to update primary care physicians on current information regarding important medical topics and rapidly changing therapeutic areas. The emphasis of this program is on practical and useful information for a clinical practice.
Course Learning Objectives
Following the conference, attendees will be able to:
- Discuss the clinical presentation of common disorders seen in primary care.
- Utilize current advances in the diagnosis and treatment of these common problems.
- Identify highly relevant medical findings that may change how a primary care physician currently practices.
- Implement a variety of common clinical scenarios into their medical practice.

CME Credits – DO’s
The South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society (SCOMS) is recognized as an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Category 1 CME Sponsor by the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education (CCME). SCOMS anticipates being approved for 12 hours of AOA Category 1-A CME credit for this program pending approval by the AOA CCME. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she spent in the educational activity.
SCOMS Continuing Medical Education Policy
Evaluation data will be compiled and provided to SCOMS. Comments and suggestions regarding program content, location and other program specific details will be considered when planning future activities. Grievances regarding program administration and reporting of AOA CME credits will be handled on an individual basis. Participants with grievances that cannot be resolved will be sent to the AOA CCME.
It is the policy of SCOMS to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all of its educational programs. All participating faculty are expected to disclose to the participants any real or apparent conflict of interest related to the content of their presentation.
